KENDRA BLAZE RP
~SCENE ONE~
5 Years in the making…
*The scene fades up inside the home as the woman formerly known as Kendra Blaze. She was dressed normal, blue jeans and a blouse, as she stood in front of the stove. She was making some French toast when a girl who appeared to be about 12 came in with an envelope in her hand.*
Girl: Here you go mom. This came for you in the mail today.
Kendra: Thank you, Ashley.
*She took the envelope and looked at the name on the front. It read “Kendra Blaze”. She raised an eyebrow*
Kendra: Kendra Blaze… that’s a name I haven’t been called in years.
*She read the name on the front of the envelope.*
Kenrda: Josh C Duncan? Oh don’t tell me it’s some random wrestling promoter trying to suck me back into that world.
Ashley: So what if it is, mom? Don’t you miss it?
Kendra: Sometimes.
Ashley: Well open it up!
*She smiled softly as she ripped open the envelope and began to read it.*
Kendra: It is some wrestling promoter trying to bring together names from across the globe to compete in one time matches. The Professional Wrestling Project.
Ashley: Are you going to do it?
Kendra: Don’t be silly. I’m not a wrestler anymore.
Ashley: So what! You were one of the best. Mom, I’ve seen the trophies. I ‘ve seen the belts, and the tapes of your matches. You were a brutal machine!
Kendra: It’s not my world anymore.
Ashley: And this is? Being a personal trainer at a local gym? This life isn’t you mom. You are unhappy in this world, and I know it and you know it. Come on! You need to do this mom. You need to do this for yourself. Show the world what it means to be Kendra FUCKING Blaze!
*Kendra raised her eyebrows*
Kendra: ASHLEY!
Ashley: Sorry! But you know it’s true. There’s something missing in your life. Pride in what you do. You need to do this! You want to do it but you are scared.
Kendra: Scared?
Ashley: That’s right. Scared. You are scared that you have gone soft and can’t do it anymore. You are one of the strongest and toughest women I know. You want to do this! You need to do it! Please? For me mom?
Kendra: Sometimes, you are just too smart for your own good, kid.
Ashley: Look who raised me.
*She smiled and Kendra hugged her*
Kendra: I’ll do it.
Ashley: Good! I’ll go get out your old ring gear!
*Ashley ran off excited as Kendra sat down and looked over the letter she received as the cameras fade out.*
~SCENE TWO~
Times Change – People Change – EVERYTHING changes.
*The scene opens up inside a room that is pretty much empty except a ladder that was reaching towards the ceiling. There was an uncomfortable silence as a woman walked into the room. The heels she was wearing clicking on the tile floor as she walked in. She wore a pair of plain blue jeans and a plain sports bra-like top. Her hair was down and wavy, flowing over her shoulders. The muscles on her arms were bigger than most woman in this business, and it was obvious that she was well built. This woman was none other than Kendra Blaze. She walked up to the ladder and ran her fingers across it delicately.*
Kendra Blaze: Change. It’s all around us. Obviously, I’ve changed a lot since the last time I stood inside a wrestling ring. It’s been a good 5 years since I’ve stepped outside the ring. Everyone changes at some point. Well, almost everyone. I see you, Jay, are just as arrogant as ever. They say that only the wisest and stupidest of men never change. Take a wild guess which one you are.
*She chuckled lightly a little bit and shook her head. She looked up at the ladder a little bit*
Kendra Blaze: Remember the last time we were going to step in that ring? Do you remember me cutting my promo from the top of that ladder? Because I do. We were set up for a match for my NEW Overseas title. You and I were going to put on a hell of a show for the crowd. And we all know how it was going to end. I was going to beat you an embarrass you. You were a sexist pig then, and you are a sexist pig now. You see, times change. People change. I’ve changed. I’ve been out of the ring for 5 years, never thought I’d see reason to step back in the ring. I know what you’ve been doing the past 5 years, and you aren’t afraid to let people see it. You want to know what I’ve been up to, Jay? Raising my daughter. That’s right, Kendra “FUCKING” Blaze is a mommy. I was even back in the days of NEW. But I bet you never knew. And you want to know why? Because I kept my personal life separate from my professional life. Ever since I made the choice to leave the business, however, my personal life and professional life have become the same thing. With one little piece of unfinished business hanging over my head… YOU.
*She walked around the ladder a little bit.*
Kendra Blaze: Not knowing what exactly would have happened has always loomed in the back of my mind. The need to knock you out, has always been there. Suppressed, but there. We have a history, Jay. And it’s about time we write the final chapter in that back. Don’t think that just because I have been out of the business for 5 years means that I am out of shape… that’s clearly not the case obviously.
*She flexed her arms.*
Kendra Blaze: I have spent the last 5 years working in a local gym. When I accepted the invitation to come here and wrestle, I immediately got in touch with my old trainer and took care of any ring rust that may have settled over the years. Not only do I need to beat the snot out of you… I WANT to. And I’m going to. So you go ahead and sit in your custom pool, sipping your margaritas. You are just as empty of a man as you were back then. Remember, money can’t buy happiness. You are a shell of a man like you always have been. You are alone in this world, and you always will be. I may not be the bloodthirsty, savage woman I used to be. But that by no means makes me weak!
*She sat down on the second to bottom step of the ladder and leaned forward a little bit into the camera.*
Kendra Blaze: I may not have that same hatred for men that I had 5 years ago. But I have something that you don’t have going into this match, Jay. And that’s a reason, other than ego, to win. My daughter, Ashley. She wants to be proud of her mom. And I want her to be proud of me. And she will be. I’m going to take care of a skeleton in my closet that I should have thrown out all those years ago but still held on to for some reason. And I not only have one chance to prove it, but three. Three falls, and I only need to win two of them. You may be a hot commodity in this business but one thing you lack is a soul. You are in this for the money, and only the money. You said it yourself didn’t you? “It’s all about the dead presidents”. It’s so much more for me. It’s about pride, it’s about settling a long overdue score, but most of all it’s about proving something to myself. And that is that I still got it.
*She sat back a little bit.*
Kendra Blaze: And trust me, I still got it more than you know. At the end of the night, I will finally shut your mouth! And trust me, it’s about 5 years overdue. So good luck, Jay. You’re going to need it. Because when I’m done with you, you are going to WISH you turned this match down. More than anything.
*She smiled a little as the scene faded to black.*
