"Zack Jones © vs Sylar Drake vs Shawn Roberts"
“You know, being a top champion is a whole new experience for me.
Never before in my five year or so career have i been able to say that I’m the top champion of a wrestling federation, so there’s that. You tend to get a newfound respect from others who didn’t show that as much when you do win a top title. You also seem to get even stronger competition coming for you once you begin holding the top gold of a company.
And it’s really showing this month as I get to make the first defense of my PWP Heavyweight championship. The same championship I won off of my brother about three weeks ago in our first and what will be our only match against each other. Yeah, that was definitely an awesome two out of three falls match, but I obviously have to forget about that match because it’s the past and I have to focus on my future in PWP and this championship. So, in just a few days, I put this beautiful belt on the line against two men whose names I have actually come across before; Sylar Drake and Shawn Roberts. So at least I’m walking into this match now knowing what’s in store for me.
Shawn Roberts is a name that I could have faced a few months back, actually. You see, Shawn and I both signed up for the Iron King tournament in Phoenix Wrestling to represent our respect companies (he represented Inferno Wrestling and I represented Insurgency Wrestling). Now, I guess we could have actually seen one another in the tournament had things gone the right away, but that didn’t happen. Shawn lost to Chie Todonori and after winning a second chance battle royal, I lost to Dominic Davenport. We both put up good performances, but we never did get to meet one another in the ring there.
So we get the chance here. And I look forward to that. I know Shawn Roberts can go in the ring and I think he’s looking at this match as a match that could add a bit more star power to his career. I don’t know everything about the guy, but I do know that this PWP Heavyweight championship is probably the best single piece of gold he’s gone after ever. And he knows that it’s really right there for him, all he has to do is step up, show up, get the pin, and take this sucker home.
And if you don’t think he can do it, then I implore you to tune in so you can see what kind of fight he is going to bring into this match. Because I know better than anyone that when Shawn Roberts wants to fight, he’s going to fight. This 22 year old kid is going to bust his ass leading into this match and he is going to give me a great fight because this is the biggest opportunity of Shawn Roberts’s career. And it just might end up being the best night of Shawn Roberts’s life.
Or it just might be the night where we see what could have happened between us had we met in the Iron King tournament. And that’ll be me putting you down for a three count.
Yes, I think a few months ago, I could have faced you one-on-one in that ring and could have beaten you. That thought remains the same a few months later, Shawn. Sure, you’ve got a few extra months under your belt and sure, you might have faced some even tougher competition than before, but I still believe that I can beat you. And that will be my job to make this thought a fact when we face off in Cleveland, Ohio.
And I think there truly is a bad side to defeating you on this show, Shawn. The bad side is that you are coming into your own hometown to fight for this title. Sounds like it’s basically the main plot to a fairytale, YOUR fairytale, but that’s the problem. It’s only a tale. It’s only a fictional little story and it’s not something that’s going to happen. And that’s not me being a cocky asshole. That’s me saying that just being in your hometown and training harder for this match than anything else will not make a difference. You want this strap?
You bring 100% of what you can dish out, and then you bring some more. This top title is the only one I’ve ever had and I don’t plan on dropping it soon. I plan on being champion for quite a bit and I plan on leaving my mark with this title before it’s taken from my clutches. So, bring it all, Shawn. I want to see you do that, they want to see you do that, and you really, truly want to do that too.
You have enough things to want to bring this out of you. You have the skill level to win this belt. You have the hometown advantage. And you even have the size advantage over me. So all you need to do is light that fire under your ass and bring it. Because if you don’t, those thoughts about taking this belt are going to fizzle out like crazy. Because if you don’t, I’ll do the pro thing and won’t hesitate to drop you on your ass. Do what needs to be done in order to bring out your A+ game, because you know I will.
But speaking of wanting to drop someone on their ass...
Hello, Sylar Drake.
I think you remember me, don’t you? I mean, how could you forget the brother of the man you once were tag team partners with? After all, that brother of mine treated you like a brother for a while. And for those of you who don’t know what exactly I’m talking about, I’ll tell you guys the story. I’ll fill you in on what the hell I’m talking about.
About a bit over a year ago, my brother was wrestling over in San Diego in a company quite a handful of people know. I won’t bother name dropping them because well, it’s not really that important. But yes, my brother was busting his ass over there in San Diego and was even making himself some new friends and allies. One of those friends? He was this young British high flyer who went by the name of Sylar Drake.
Well, you know, after a few weeks into their friendship, Blake and Sylar got put into this tag title tournament over there. When I realized that Blake would be tag team wrestling again, with a different partner, I knew I had to at least call him and ask him how he felt about teaming with this guy. And you know what he told me? You know what he said about Sylar Drake and teaming with him?
He said that this would be almost like teaming with me, because Sylar Drake had become like a little brother to him. He told me that he trusted Sylar Drake. That he felt like Sylar Drake and himself could easily become the tag team champions because they were so similar, because he knew that the guy had a good head on his shoulders. HE BELIEVED IN SYLAR DRAKE!
Needless to say, the tag team tournament didn’t work out in their favor and a bit later, Sylar found himself on the IR (that’s injury reserve for those who don’t know) and when he came back, he changed. And he changed for the worst.
Sylar, do you know what my brother said to me when he noticed that you had changed? When he realized that the Sylar that returned wasn’t the same Sylar that he teamed with, he called me and told me that he felt...disappointed. That he believed that out of all of the people who would do such a thing, he never expected you. Don’t you understand, motherfucker?! He believed in you! And you turning on everything you believed in, everything both of you believed in, ripped his heart out! You ripped his heart right out and you stomped on it, Sylar! YOU DID THAT!
So I wish you no luck, Sylar. I don’t hope you give me your best, but I hope you try. Because I’m going to put you the fuck down for my brother and I’m going to do it with a smile on my face. You walked away from him and now, I’m going to be the one who makes you regret it.
Bring me you fight, boys. Bring me your A games. I don’t give a damn. Nobody’s pinning me in this match. Not as long as I can move limbs in my body and I can still kickout. This story’s ending is going to end with me standing over you two, STILL your PWP Heavyweight champion.
And there’s no editing this ending, boys.”
