(After a few local wrestling matches were showcased as the preshow, The show officially began with Francesca Coran standing in the middle of the ring, holding the Pro Wrestling Project World Championship in her right hand. A microphone occupied her opposite hand, and she stated that much to her chagrin, she had to inform the crowd that Cordelia Stevenson had officially forfeited her number one contender status, and thus would not be fighting for the championship she now held in her hands. However, she intended to still try and give the fans a championship match in November. Frankie stated that Chris Night and Alexa Strange would face off tonight for the right to face Jackson for the PWP championship next month. She then thanked all the fans for supporting the Pro Wrestling Project, and told them she looked forward to giving them a quality product from tonight forward.)

MERLOT AYANO vs. DONOVAN De JESUS (15 minute time limit)
Merlot and Donovan circled each other, ice cold stares being exchanged between the two of them. They locked up, with the larger De Jesus overpowering the much smaller Ayano. He clubbed away at her with forearms and chops that kept Merlot from gaining any momentum.
In the 3rd minute of the match, De Jesus made his first mistake, going for a back senton that Merlot moved out of the way of. She sat up Donovan, and blasted away at his chest with kicks. She then covered, but got only two! Merlot didn’t let this bother her, pulling De Jesus up to his feet, and hitting a quick DDT!
Not long after that, Merlot tried to lock a modified dragon sleeper onto Donovan, but he elbowed her hard in the side until she released the hold. De Jesus followed this up with a side suplex, and this time scored with the senton! He covered, but Melot placed her foot on the ropes, breaking the count!
Donovan was annoyed, but took it out on his opponent, rather than the referee by tossing Merlot around with three consecutive German suplexes, followed up by an elbow drop, which netted him only a two count!
In the 7th minute of the match, Donovan clutched Merlot’s arm from behind, spinning her out...but she ducked the clothesline, and muscled Donovan over with a Northern lights suplex! She couldn’t hold on to the bridge, and the crowd began to cheer her on as both competitors lie prone on the mat. Donovan got to his feet first, and pulled Merlot into the corner. He pummeled her in the corner with hard strikes to the chest, and then finished it off with an avalanche splash!
In the10th minute, Donovan decided he’d had enough. Pulling down his elbow pad, he wound up for “The Head Shot”, only to catch a 540 kick from Merlot! She then backed up, and connected with the Sorrow Bringer to cheers from the crowd. Merlot then covered, and secured the victory!
Winner: Merlot Ayano (10:49)

SAVANNAH vs. RICKY VALERO vs. ANGELA FORTIN (15 minute time limit)
All three competitors circled for position, looking to impress the PWP crowd. Ricky Valero struck first, catching Fortin off guard with a few kicks to the belly. He gets in as much offense as he can before Savannah intervenes, pushing him back into the ropes and whipping him across. On the return, she goes for a clothesline, but Ricky ducks. He goes to bounce off the ropes, but is quickly clotheslined over by Angela Fortin!
Not long after that Angela went for a big suplex, but Savannah blocked. Angela tried again, only for Savannah to float over, and hit a back suplex for a 2 count! Ricky slid in and picked up Savannah roughly by her hair and hit her with a snap overhead belly to belly. He motioned to the crowd, and then continued his attack. Angela, however, had different plans. She stopped Ricky with a backbreaker, and then quickly followed it up with a leg sweep that earned her a two count. She got up to a wild clothesline attempt from Savannah, which she rolled under, and then kicked out her legs with a low dropkick.
Angela held control until about the 8th minute of the match. She alternated her attack between Savannah and Ricky, not letting either get too much going. Savannah, however, found herself an opening and struck. While Angela was busy with Ricky, Savannah sprung up and clubbed Fortin in the back a few times, and then hit a backbreaker of her own! She mounted Angela and began to strike away at her, until the referee pulled her off. Savannah glared at the referee, and then pulled Angela to her feet. She then saw Ricky make a move, and ducked out of the way as Ricky connected with the Walkoff! Ricky didn’t think to go after Savannah, pulled Angela up, and set her up for the Franchise tag, but Savannah charged in with the Pounce, driving herself into Angela AND Ricky! She then covered Angela for the three count victory!
Winner: Savannah (9:55)

1# CONTENDERSHIP to the PWP CHAMPIONSHIP (30 min time limit)
CHRIS NIGHT vs. ALEXA STRANGE
The crowd was very excited for the first meeting between Night and Strange, as dueling chants for both of them rang throughout the arena. Francesca Coran was on hand with a brand new feature for PWP: The number one contender’s trophy. Before the match could get underway, she explained that the winner between Night and Strange would be awarded the trophy, which they would hold until they either won or lost their title opportunity.
Francesca wasted no further time, allowing the match to get underway. Night and Strange locked up, with Strange surprising Chris Night with chops to the chest to back him up. Chris nodded, and came in for a collar and elbow, but Alexa surprised him again with an arm drag, followed by a couple of kicks to the chest! She quickly went for a pin, but couldn’t even get one. She pulled Night to his feet, and then whipped him into the ropes. On the rebound, she hit him with a Thesz Press, and utilized her unique style for a pin...but Night kicked out again!
In the 3rd minute, Alexa backed Chris into the turnbuckle, and began to ram her butt into him. She rolled her hips...and found herself slammed into the turnbuckle with a school boy! He followed that up with a rolling Kappou kick that stopped Alexa cold!
Night then pulled her up, and launched her out of the corner with a monkey flip. He followed it up with a front rolling senton, and got a two count from it.
In the 7th minute, Chris Night set Alexa up for a standing moonsault, but Alexa pulled her knees in, and then followed that up with a small package, but it only got her two! She then pulled Night up, and drove her knees into his back with a backcracker! She began to focus her attack on his back, stomping away at it, and then going for a snap suplex. She dug her knees into his back and posed seductively to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
In the 9th minute, Alexa whipped Night into the ropes, and then rammed her butt into his face, followed by dropping it onto his chest after he fell for a close three count, but Night JUST got his shoulder up. Alexa saw her opening, and set up night for her bulldog driver. Night at the last second put on the brakes, freed his head, and hit Alexa with sweet dreams! The crowd popped as Alexa fell like a redwood, and Night hit the mat in exhaustion. He slowly crawled into the cover...but ONLY GOT TWO! He took too long to get into the cover, and Alexa was able to recover! Night hit the mat, trying to to hype himself up. He slowly got up, and went for Sweet Dreams again, but Alexa rose to her feet, and then ducked under the kick, and then scored with the bulldog driver! She went for the cover, but Night kicked out at two!
In the 13th minute, Alexa seemed ready to claim victory. She grabbed Chris up and set him up for Estranged, but Chris managed to reverse it into a DDT that gave him a little breathing room. He then flipped her over, and locked in the Nightshot! The crowd cheered as Alexa scrambled as best as she could to try and get to the ropes. Chris held the lock in tightly, and kept Alexa just out of reach of the ropes. Alexa refused to tap out, however, and slowly faded away. The referee raised her hand once…
twice…
and on the third raise, she kept her arm up!
She pulled with all of her strength, and managed to get a fingertip on the ropes, forcing the referee to break the hold! The crowd chanted ‘This is awesome’ as Night looked on in disbelief. Night shook his head, asking the referee if she tapped, but he affirmed that she had not. He shook his head, but then suddenly got rolled up, and Alexa had a handful of tights...but Night kicked out just before the three count!
In the fifteenth minute, Alexa grew desperate. She put Chris in his own sharpshooter hold, working on his back some more. She sat down deeply into his back, really wrenching on the hold. Night struggled with the hold, already weakened by her focus on his back. She tried to keep Night away from the ropes, but had less luck than Chris did earlier in the match. He reached the ropes, and held tight to them. Alexa held on almost through the five count, but let go in time.
In the seventeenth minute, Alexa set Chris up for Sex Drive...only for Chris to reverse with a hurricanrana! He then got to his feet, and nailed the kneeling Alexa with a modified version of his Lights Out signature move. He then got on the top rope, and connected with the Nightmare Splash! He weakly hooked the leg for the 1,2,3!
Winner: Chris Night (18:01)
(After the match, Francesca applauded Chris Night and entered the ring with the #1 contender’s trophy. She raised his hand and handed the trophy to him personally. “The Pretender” by the Foo Fighters played throughout the Alliant Energy Center as PWP 16 came to a close!)
